A new panel, and a 200-amp service when the house needs one, with the PGE disconnect and reconnect booked by us.
First, a look inside the panel: the brand and its condition, the breakers and what they feed, and the loads the house runs now plus anything you plan to add. That tells us which job you need. Replacing the panel alone swaps a worn, full or unsafe one for a new panel on the same service. A panel upgrade also raises the service, usually from 100 to 200 amps. A Federal Pacific Stab-Lok or Zinsco gets replaced outright; neither is worth repairing. If the meter base is old, we quote the 200-amp upgrade rather than work around it. If what brought you here is a dead circuit or flickering lights rather than the panel itself, start with electrical repair in Gresham; if it is a car charger, EV charger installation in Gresham begins with the same load check.
Once you approve the written estimate, the job usually starts within a few days, sometimes sooner. We book PGE, who disconnect the house before the old panel comes out. The power stays off for about 8 hours while the new panel goes in and every circuit is landed and labeled. When the work passes inspection, PGE reconnects, and we test each circuit before we leave.
Two things change at the city line. A City of Gresham inspector signs off the work, not Portland's; what else differs from Portland is a short list. And every Gresham address is on PGE, so there is no question of which utility to book; how the disconnect and reconnect are scheduled is the same as on a Portland job.
